MPs to Vote on Free Premier League Matches

UK MPs are set to vote on a new plan that could make at least 10 Premier League matches per season free-to-air on TV.

The proposal, part of the Football Governance Bill, aims to give more fans—especially younger ones—free access to top-flight football on channels like the BBC or ITV.

It also includes the League Cup Final and playoff finals in lower leagues.

Currently, watching all Premier League games can cost fans over £600 a year.

Supporters say it’s time for change.

But broadcasters and the Premier League warn it could hurt the value of TV rights.

Even if the vote fails, it signals growing pressure to make football more affordable and accessible for all.
