AC Milan Step Up Chase for Manchester United Striker Rasmus Højlund

AC Milan are making a strong push to sign Manchester United forward Rasmus Højlund this summer, with talks intensifying over a possible loan move with an option to buy.

According to multiple reports, Milan are proposing an initial loan fee of around €6 million, with a buy option set at approximately €40 million. The Italian giants are keen to add a powerful centre-forward to complement Santiago Gimenez, and Højlund’s profile fits perfectly into their plans.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have softened their stance and are now open to letting the 22-year-old leave—either on loan or through a permanent transfer. The club is under pressure to improve its financial position, and offloading Højlund could help meet profitability and sustainability targets.

However, there’s a twist. Højlund is reportedly reluctant to leave Old Trafford, preferring to fight for his place and prove himself in the Premier League. This could make negotiations tricky, even with Milan’s serious interest confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

With Serie A rivals Inter Milan and Juventus also monitoring the situation, AC Milan may need to act fast if they want to secure the Danish striker before the transfer window closes.

If a deal goes through, it would mark Højlund’s return to Serie A after his spell at Atalanta, where his performances first caught United’s eye.

One thing is certain—the next few weeks will be decisive for both Højlund’s future and Milan’s attacking plans.
