Brentford have broken their transfer record to sign Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth in a deal worth up to £42.5 million.
The 23-year-old forward from Burkina Faso has signed a five-year contract with an option for another year.
He scored nine goals in 37 games for Bournemouth last season but often struggled to get regular game time.
Ouattara comes in as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, who joined Manchester United in July.
Manager Keith Andrews on the Signing
Brentford boss Keith Andrews said he was delighted to bring Ouattara to the club:
“We’re really happy to get Dango in. He’s young but already has Premier League experience. He just hasn’t had the chance to play consistently, but we think he has huge potential.”
Why Ouattara Wanted the Move
Ouattara joined Bournemouth from French side Lorient in 2023 but never fully established himself.
Sources close to the player say he was keen to leave for a team where he could play a bigger role.
Now at Brentford, he’ll be looking to kick-start his Premier League career and become a key part of Andrews’ squad.
