Man City Seal €70M Reijnders Deal

Manchester City Secure Tijjani Reijnders in €70 Million Midfield Reinforcement

Manchester City have officially agreed a deal to sign Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, marking a high-profile addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The initial fee stands at €55 million (£46.3 million) with performance-related add-ons potentially pushing the total to €70 million. The 26-year-old, who had a standout season in Serie A, is expected to complete his medical this week before signing a five-year contract at the Etihad.

Reijnders was crowned Serie A Midfielder of the Year for the 2024–25 season after netting 15 goals and providing 4 assists, showcasing his ability to dictate play and influence the attack. Known for his tactical intelligence, technical finesse, and box-to-box energy, he has drawn comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne, the very man he is being brought in to replace following the Belgian star’s departure.

City see Reijnders not just as a replacement but as a long-term midfield leader—someone capable of steering the club through domestic and international challenges, including the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Pep Guardiola is believed to be an admirer of Reijnders’ versatility and composure under pressure, traits that will be vital as City aim to maintain dominance in the Premier League and mount another serious Champions League campaign.
