Galatasaray forward Noa Lang has confirmed that his thumb surgery “went well” following a serious injury sustained during their UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool F.C. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The Dutch attacker suffered the injury after a heavy collision with the advertising hoardings at Anfield, forcing him to leave the pitch and be rushed to the hospital.
Shortly after undergoing surgery, Lang reassured fans with a positive update, confirming that the operation was successful.
The incident occurred during a high-intensity moment in the match, where Lang lost balance and crashed into the pitchside boards.
Medical staff responded immediately before he was transported for further treatment.
Lang was not the only casualty of a difficult night for the Turkish giants. Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen also suffered a fractured right forearm during the same match, compounding Galatasaray’s woes.
Meanwhile, Liverpool F.C. secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a dominant 4-1 aggregate victory, ending Galatasaray’s European campaign.
