Sunderland have pulled off a stunning coup by signing Granit Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen for £17 million.
The former Arsenal midfielder returns to the Premier League on a three-year deal, bringing leadership and title-winning experience after helping Leverkusen clinch a historic Bundesliga-DFB Pokal double.
Xhaka becomes Sunderland’s seventh summer signing as the club gears up for top-flight football under Régis Le Bris.
“This club has ambition and passion—I’m excited to be part of it,” Xhaka said.
A huge statement from the Black Cats.
