Arsenal have made significant moves in the transfer market as they prepare for the upcoming season, adding key experience and leadership to their squad.
The club has agreed a deal to sign Christian Nørgaard from Brentford in a transfer worth up to £13 million, including add-ons.
The 31-year-old Danish international has captained Brentford in recent seasons and brings Premier League stability and leadership to Arsenal’s midfield.
With Jorginho joining Flamengo and Thomas Partey expected to leave, Nørgaard fills a critical gap in the squad.
Arsenal have also triggered the £5 million release clause of Kepa Arrizabalaga, securing the Spanish goalkeeper from Chelsea.
Kepa will serve as a capable backup or competitor for David Raya, adding much-needed depth to the goalkeeping department ahead of a long campaign.
In addition, Arsenal are reportedly close to finalising a deal for Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, with a fee believed to be around £55 million.
Zubimendi’s arrival would signal a major upgrade in the heart of midfield and further reflect Mikel Arteta’s intent to build a squad capable of challenging on all fronts.
Meanwhile, the club has secured the future of one of its brightest academy prospects, with Myles Lewis-Skelly signing a new long-term deal.
