Arsenal have completed the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea in a £5 million deal.
The 30-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Gunners and is expected to play a supporting role to fellow Spaniard David Raya. Mikel Arteta praised the move, saying Kepa’s experience at the highest level will bring valuable depth to the squad.
This transfer marks a sharp fall in valuation for Kepa, who became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper in 2018 when Chelsea paid £71.8 million to sign him from Athletic Bilbao.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Kepa won several major honours, including the UEFA Champions League in 2021, the Europa League in 2019, and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2022.
Kepa spent recent seasons on loan, first with Real Madrid, where he contributed to a successful La Liga and Champions League campaign, and later at Bournemouth, where he made 35 appearances and kept eight clean sheets.
Arsenal continue to strengthen their Spanish core, with Kepa joining recent signings like Mikel Merino and the expected arrival of Martín Zubimendi.
