Bayer Leverkusen have officially signed promising defender Jarell Quansah from Liverpool in a deal worth up to £35 million.
The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions, running until 2030.
The agreement includes an initial fee of £30 million, with an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons.
Quansah, a product of Liverpool’s youth academy, made his senior debut in 2023 and went on to make 53 appearances for the Reds.
He was part of the squad that won both the Premier League and the Carabao Cup in the 2023–24 season, showing maturity and composure well beyond his years.
Despite his potential, Quansah found limited playing time at Anfield, with strong competition from the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté.
His move to Leverkusen offers a new chapter where regular first-team football is expected.
Liverpool have included a buy-back clause in the deal, reportedly around £50 million, which will become active in 2027—reflecting their confidence in his future growth.
This marks the third transfer between the two clubs this summer, highlighting a developing connection between Liverpool and Leverkusen.
While Leverkusen strengthen their squad ahead of a busy season, Liverpool continue to reshape theirs with long-term vision in mind.
