Everton Set to Land Villarreal Striker Thierno Barry in €38m Deal

Everton are closing in on the signing of Villarreal forward Thierno Barry in a deal worth €38 million, including performance-based add-ons — one of their most ambitious moves in recent transfer windows.

According to multiple sources including The Times, The Guardian, and TransferFeed, Everton will pay a base fee of €32 million (£27.6m) plus €6 million (£5.2m) in bonuses.

This total package is just below Barry’s €40 million release clause, which Villarreal had initially considered firm.

Who Is Thierno Barry?

The 22-year-old French striker impressed in his debut La Liga season, scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists in 35 appearances.

His contributions helped Villarreal finish fifth and qualify for the Champions League.

Barry was signed by Villarreal from FC Basel in 2024 for €16 million, making this deal a strong profit for the Spanish club.

He was also called up to represent France in the Under-21 European Championship.
