Newcastle United have reached an agreement to sign Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga in a deal worth £55 million, potentially rising to £60 million with add-ons.
The Swedish international is set to become the Magpies’ first major signing of the summer window.
Elanga, 23, enjoyed a standout 2024/25 season at Forest, registering 6 goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
His performances played a key role in helping Forest secure a spot in European competition for the first time in 30 years.
Newcastle initially had a £45 million bid rejected but returned with an improved offer, which was accepted.
The move also benefits Manchester United, Elanga’s former club, who are set to receive around £8 million due to a sell-on clause in the original deal.
The winger is expected to sign a five-year contract and will undergo a medical in the coming days.
His speed, directness, and versatility in attack make him a strong addition to Eddie Howe’s side as they look to build on their recent progress in both domestic and European competitions.
Elanga’s arrival marks a clear statement of intent from Newcastle, who are looking to strengthen their squad after a mixed campaign and a push for consistent top-four finishes.
