Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr on a two-year deal, marking a major return to management for the former Tottenham Hotspur boss.
The Australian coach now takes charge of a star-studded squad led by Cristiano Ronaldo, with Al-Nassr moving quickly to secure an experienced manager as they prepare for the new season.
Reports indicate that the club confirmed the appointment on social media, describing it as a two-season agreement.
Postecoglou’s move comes after a difficult spell in English football.
He famously guided Tottenham to Europa League success in 2025, ending the club’s long wait for silverware, but was later dismissed after a poor Premier League campaign.
His brief Nottingham Forest spell lasted only 39 days before ending after an eight-game winless run.
Despite those setbacks, Al-Nassr will hope Postecoglou can bring the attacking football and winning mentality that made him successful at Celtic, Yokohama F. Marinos and Brisbane Roar.
His arrival also adds another big-name coaching figure to Saudi football, with the league continuing to attract global attention.
For Postecoglou, this is a huge opportunity to rebuild his reputation at a club with major ambition, major pressure and one of football’s biggest names in Ronaldo.
