Pep Guardiola has been handed a two-match touchline ban after receiving his sixth yellow card of the season while managing Manchester City.

The booking triggered an automatic suspension under the Football Association’s disciplinary rules for managers and coaches. Like players, coaches can receive yellow cards for misconduct in the technical area, including arguing with referees, leaving the technical area to protest decisions, or displaying unsporting behaviour.

Suspension Details

Because Guardiola reached the disciplinary limit, he will now be forced to miss two upcoming matches from the sidelines. The Manchester City boss will not be allowed on the touchline during the Premier League clash against West Ham United, as well as the club’s FA Cup quarter-final fixture.

During those games, Guardiola will have to watch from the stands while his coaching staff directs the team from the bench.

Carabao Cup Final Exception

Despite the suspension, Guardiola will still be able to lead his team in the EFL Cup Final, as the ban does not apply to that match. This will come as welcome news for Manchester City supporters, as the club aims to secure another trophy this season.

Passion on the Touchline

Guardiola is known for his intense passion on the sidelines, frequently reacting to key moments during matches.

While that energy has helped shape Manchester City into one of Europe’s most dominant teams, it has also occasionally led to clashes with officials.

Even though he will miss two matches from the touchline, Guardiola will still play a major role behind the scenes, preparing tactics and guiding the team as they continue their pursuit of silverware.
