Arsenal Close in on Christos Tzolis as Club Brugge Star Edges Towards Premier League Return
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Christos Tzolis from Belgian champions Club Brugge after agreeing a deal worth around £34 million (€40 million).
While the transfer has not yet been officially announced by Arsenal, multiple reliable reports indicate that the clubs have reached an agreement, with the player expected to complete a medical before signing a long-term contract.
Who is Christos Tzolis?
Christos Tzolis is a 24-year-old Greek international winger who has rebuilt his career into one of European football’s most impressive comeback stories.
Born in Thessaloniki, Tzolis came through the youth ranks at PAOK, where he quickly established himself as one of Greece’s brightest young talents.
His pace, dribbling ability and eye for goal earned him a move to Norwich City in 2021.
However, his spell in England proved difficult. Limited opportunities, managerial changes and Norwich’s struggles meant he never fully settled in the Premier League.
Instead of letting that setback define his career, Tzolis revived his form through loan spells before securing a permanent move to Club Brugge.
Outstanding Form in Belgium
Tzolis has been one of the standout performers in Belgian football over the past two seasons.
During the 2025-26 campaign, he produced remarkable numbers:
- 22 goals
- 29 assists
- 52 appearances in all competitions
Across his two seasons with Club Brugge, he has contributed:
- 43 goals
- 45 assists
- 108 appearances
His performances helped Club Brugge compete domestically and in Europe while earning him recognition as one of Belgium’s top attacking players.
Why Arsenal Want Him
Arsenal moved for Tzolis following Leandro Trossard’s transfer to Beşiktaş, identifying the Greek international as an ideal replacement.
Mikel Arteta values versatile forwards who can press aggressively, attack defenders one-on-one and contribute goals from wide areas. Tzolis fits that profile perfectly.
He is capable of playing:
- Left wing
- Right wing
- Occasionally as a second forward
His direct style, creativity and work rate are expected to provide additional competition for Arsenal’s attacking positions while strengthening the squad for another Premier League and UEFA Champions League campaign.
