Chelsea Complete £52m Signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace

Chelsea have completed the signing of France defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £52 million, strengthening their defence ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old centre-back arrives at Stamford Bridge after an impressive spell at Crystal Palace, where his pace, strength and composure made him one of the Premier League’s standout defenders.

His consistent performances have also earned him recognition at international level with France.

Lacroix is expected to play a key role in Chelsea’s rebuilding project, adding experience and athleticism to the heart of the defence.

Comfortable playing out from the back and capable of defending one-on-one against the league’s quickest forwards, he fits the profile of the modern centre-back Chelsea have been targeting.

The Blues believe Lacroix’s leadership qualities and defensive reliability will help provide greater stability as they aim to challenge for domestic honours and return to the top of English football.

With the transfer now complete, Chelsea fans will be eager to see their new defensive signing make an immediate impact in blue as preparations for the new campaign continue.
